Hey Everyone. Thanks for reading another #BTSwithMatida post. Today’s blog post is going to be a First day of school advice post. Most of this blog post will be in pictures. So let’s not dilly nor dally lets just get right to get. There will be quick tip’s through out the blog post so look out for those.
So this tip seems to be something we all do naturally for the first day but it doesn’t hurt to just reiterate it. This is pretty self explanatory but the night before the first day of school have everything you will need prepared. For example make sure you know what hairstyle you are going to do, what makeup look do you want to do, and having everything you will need in your backpack. Having yourself prepared the day before just saves a lot of time in the morning plus being prepared keeps you from being more nervous for the first day of school than you will already be.
(Quick tip: Have a list so you don’t forget what to do)
Untitled #349
After you have done everything in your list you probably are feeling a ton of emotions and don’t know what to do. It will most likely be harder for you to go to sleep and one quick tip for that would be to speak out loud all of the thing’s you want to happen on the first day of school. It may seem a bit strange to just talk aloud all of the things you want to happen on the first day but once you just say all of the good things you want to happen, the bad things you don’t want to happen, or just anything that’s on your mind. You will feel way less nervous and more calm which will help you go to sleep.
(Quick Tip: Say your school expectations before you go to sleep)
So now that you’ve gone to sleep my next tip would be.
   Untitled #350
Waking up earlier than you would do normally on a school day gives you more time to get ready. Also you just have more time to control your nerves (or at least try to). And since you have already prepared a everything the night before you don’t have to worry about something going wrong.
Untitled #351
This next tip is definitely a tip that helps to get over the nerves of the first day of school. If you make a playlist of upbeat songs that just get you in a good mood it really pumps you up for school.
Untitled #352
When you are on your way to school you are either calm and collected or even more nervous than before and so many thoughts are going through your head. So while you are on your way to school call your friends and have a specific spot that you will all meet so that you are not just walking into the new year alone. Plus majority of the time your friends are feeling just as nervous or way more nervous than you.
Untitled #353
My last tip would be to just think positive and don’t let your nerves get the best of you because if you think negative the whole day you will have a bad day. So just think positive and be yourself.
That’s all for today.

Back To School: Outfits- First day of school

// Don’t forget to comment, like, and follow //
Untitled #343

Hello Everybody. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day so far and thank you for taking the time to read (even though you just look at the pictures) my blog.
Today’s blog post is a continuation of my #BTSwithMatida series. Today I am going to be talking about picking a first day of school outfit, not so much actually outfits to wear on the first day of school. Don’t be too upset with me that post is still coming. Yet I do feel that there is more stress when it comes to picking the first day of school outfit than wearing the first day of school outfit.
So as always you will see some quick tips throughout this blog post so look out for those.
So when picking a back to school outfit I feel that there is one major component we all kind of feel but do not think that much on and no it’s not practicality although that is still something you should think about and will still be a tip.
Actually it’s confidence. I know so many people already know that and hey I hate to sound like a broken record because everyone would tell you that but it is completely true. If you want your first day of school to be an amazing scene from high school musical or any other iconic high school movie then as cliche as it might sound confidence is key. I mean it’s like when you have had a long day and you feel super icky and you take a long bath or shower and you come out feeling like a whole other person. Same with clothing and confidence.
When you have on clothing you are confident in, no one can make you feel bad about what you are wearing. So that is why I say the first thing you should be considering when picking a first day of school outfit is confidence. plus it just makes all of these other steps super easy.
My next tip would be comfort. When picking your first day of school outfit I would say comfort is a very important aspect because you will not just be sitting around all day. You will be walking around for the next 7-8 classes and from experience the classes are not always a short distance from each other and you have to do a bit of walking. So you do not want to pick a first day of school outfit that is not comfortable because being uncomfortable all day is not going to put you in the best mood and no one wants to have a bad first day. And yes I have heard the saying beauty is pain but let me just say that is completely false because you can be beautiful and still be comfortable.
(Quick tip: Apply these tips to other aspects of your first day of school outfit like shoes, accessories, hairstyles, etc.)
Next tip I have is to think first impression. By that I mean when you are picking out your first outfit make sure your outfit is completely you. That when you put it on you do not feel like you have on a costume but that you feel like when someone sees you they are going to see your personality shining through your clothing.
(Quick tip: Your clothing should not make a personality for you but your personality should show through the clothing)
Nothing is worse than wearing a costume on the first day of school because then you put on a mask and pretend to be something your not and not only is that just bad for first impressions but it’s just not good to make a false identity because the mask eventually comes off and then you will be around people  you do not actually want to be around and it just mess’s up your entire year, plus it just takes way to much energy to be something your not trust me.
Last but not least my last tip would be practicality which I feel is super self explanatory. If you know that it is going to be a super hot day the first day of school then you most likely do not want to put on a black leather jacket (even though I would do that). In anything you do I feel it is good to evaluate how practical it is so that is why I included this in my tips for back to school because it is just an all around good tip.
That’s all for today. There is no outfit just because my next post are outfit ideas.

Hello Everyone and welcome back to another blog post. Today is a continuation of my #BTSwithMatida series and we are going to be talking about school supplies. I’m talking planners to pencils and notebooks to clipboards.

(Quick tip: when you are going back to school supply shopping bring a list)

If your school doesn’t have open campus which is basically where they send you your schedule in the mail (in high school) and they have a day where you can visit the school and see where your classes are, meet your teachers, and get supply list. Then I will go ahead and tell you the basic essentials. You can tailor this list to have more or less of something of need be.

Basic school supplies:

1. Pencils & Pens.

Papermate in my opinon are the best but all in all I would recommend mechanical pencils over wooden pencils just because mechanical are way less maintenance.

3. College ruled notebook paper

4. At least 3 notebooks (college ruled)

5. A planner

Just because you have to be in school doesn’t mean you can’t have nice notebooks. My major recommendation for pocking notebooks is try to find folders or binders that mach color wise just so you can split them in subjects.

6. A pencil pouch to keep your pencils in.

It is really important to have a planner especially in high school just so you can stay organized through out the year. And the good thing about planners is they come in so many different shapes and sizes so they can fit any type of needs. A tip for picking a planner would be to get a weekly and monthly planner just so you have mor versatility.

And that is pretty much it. Im just kidding you didn’t really think I would just leave you with that. Like I said in my last post i’m going to be sharing first day of school looks with you guys.

So this look I feel is really good for a first or second day of school.

This outfit is more on the casual, model off duty side but I still really like it. I choose this really basic white graphic tee that says “in tees we trust” which would look great tucked in or even tied in a knot. Especially with this really nice faux leather pleated skirt. The skirt definitely glams up this outfit a bit more plus pleats are really trendy right now.

For outerwear I went for the classic destressed denim jacket. This one in particular is my favorite because it has a hole right where your elbow would be plus it is just a really nice light denim color that is really flattering on mant skin tones.

For acessories I kept it really minimal with just a simple wrap and tie chocker that is really flattering to the neck and compliments the color of the skirt. Along with that I wpuld wear some sort of arm candy but I didn’t put any here I would opt for maybe a black watch or even just a simple bracelet.

For shoes I went for the classic and trendy Nike’s in black and white. I feel that the shoes complete that model off duty look and gives the outfit that extra casualness especially for school.

Even if there was something you didn’t like about this outfit I will be doing more every week so look forward to that plus you can always change something about the outfit to make it more your style.

I hope you all liked this weeks post

Back To School: Shopping

Back to School: Shopping
Welcome back to my blog. Today’s blog post is going to be a continuation of my #BTSwithMatida  series. Today we will be branching off from my last blog post was talking about picking the perfect backpack and clothing color schemes for back to school shopping. In this blog  post I am going to be elaborating on the clothing part of back to school.
So lets start with what I was talking about Monday. Which was the clothing color scheme. A clothing color scheme is having a set theme of colors that you feel are versatile and can be worn together in many different ways. So more for your buck.
The clothing color scheme is a really helpful method. It allows for you to avoid buying unnecessary clothing, coming home realizing nothing goes together, and like I said before you get more for your buck (and who doesn’t love that). Not only is having a clothing color scheme good for clothing but as I brought up in my last blog post it can also help with finding the perfect book bag , accessories, and even shoes.
Once you have a color scheme. You can get to the fun part and that is actually going shopping.
(My clothing color scheme is black, white, cream, beige, denim, gray, red, yellow, and burnt orange.) (Not that you guys care)
While you are shopping something I would recommend going with someone you trust and will tell you the truth about the clothing you are trying on (does something good or bad on you). The trick with this is bringing someone who has similar style than you so that way the reason you guys don’t agree on style isn’t because you don’t have similar styles.
While you are shopping remember that it is important to remember practically. By practicality I mean that something isn’t to short and you are going to grow of it. Or that something is to tight and you will only wear once. This even apply’s to shoes and accessories. For example if you buy a leather jacket with silver hardware you probably want to wear a silver watch with it rather than a gold watch. An example for shoes would be if you are in high school or college you most likely can wear sandals but if you live in a city that has a more topical climate and rains a lot you most likely want to invest in 1 pair of sandals but you shouldn’t spend all of your money on sandals maybe buy more sneakers or durable flats.
Since we are on the topic of shoes let’s talk about some practical shoes. I do not feel that  sandals and flip flops are that practical only because you wear them for a short time out of the school year (unless you live somewhere like Florida). So I would recommend something like sneakers  they are versatile and practical.
Untitled #330
It is fine if you are not a sneaker fan you can go for a versatile flat.
 Untitled #331
Now lets talk about some accessories. I know accessories that are practical and cute sounds like a fairy tale but I feel they’re are some accessories that are just that. A fairy tale.
Untitled #333
So that is all for today. An overview of all the tips will be below. Every back to school post will have outfit post from now one.

Back To School Shopping Tips:

1.  Have a clothing color scheme

Welcome to B2S season

Back T0 School

Today’s post is going to be starting my #BTSwithMatida series and I am super excited to be back blogging. So I  will be doing a post about my own back to school experience soon, so stay tuned for that and I hope to hear from you guys about your back to school experience as well.

Today’s post is going to be regarding something that I feel we all do but don’t think that much about and that’s picking out a backpack. Now this seems like something very small and unimportant but in fact your backpack is the accessory to every outfit you wear from the beginning to the last day of school (if it doesn’t break or get dirty).

Which is why you should always pick a backpack that you feel.

A: Complements your style.

and

B: Is a color that can go with a lot of the clothes you wear.

But before getting to my tips on how to pick the perfect backpack we have to talk about the thing that effects every student unless you are in a private school and that is clothing. Every morning you have to pick out something to wear and some days are better than others but you still have to wear clothing (I hope). So I wanted to give you guys a quick tip about back to school shopping.

When you go back to school shopping it can be very overwhelming seeing so many styles, colors, and patterns. So my tip for not getting lost in what you wanted and ending up getting clothing pieces you will never wear is before you go back to school shopping have a clothing color scheme. That may sound crazy but it really helps to keep you from becoming overwhelmed. I would recommend picking colors that you feel are interchangeable so that you can make more outfits, plus you get more for your money.

(Some examples of clothing color scheme below)

Now that you have your color scheme it will make finding a backpack so much simpler. When you are picking your backpack keep in mind whether you want an accent backpack.

Untitled #295

Or a neutral colored backpack.

Untitled #296

And with that also comes whether you want patterned or plain.

Untitled #297

Well that’s all for today but I will be back Friday for another #BTSwithMatida blog post. Also Down below I have some backpack tips and some more backpack examples plus the color scheme example.

Don’t forget to comment and follow.

Backpack Tips:

1. Find something durable.

2. Find something that will go with majority if not all of your clothing.

3. Make sure it feels comfortable on the shoulders when there is weight on it .

4. Be happy with it I mean you have to keep it for a while.

How to keep your backpack from getting dirty:

1. Do not put it on the floor of the school (if you can).

2. Do not  lean on the wall with your backpack on.

3. Have a spot for your backpack (not on the floor) at home.
